Boston, MA -  The Boston Junior Whalers are excited to share that BJW '04 defenseman Owen Paskowski, and BJW '04 forward Devin Kaplan have made their NCAA Division I commitments!

Paskowski, a towering 6'2" defender with great vision, has committed to Colorado College.  Owen hails from Plymouth, MA, and was an original member of our first-ever BJW 2004 Elite Team.  Owen grew up playing for the Boston Bandits program in the EHF, and last season played with the Bandits' 16U Team in the USPHL.  Owen's father, Ian, served as the Head Coach of our BJW 2004 Elite Team during the squirt and peewee years, and Owen was a part of several championship teams.  This season, Owen has moved to Buffalo, and is suiting up as a member of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 14U Team, which is coached by former NHLer, Craig Rivet.  Owen's younger sister, Addie, has been a standout member of the Boston Lady Whalers program over the past few years as well!

Kaplan, like Paskowski, is no stranger to playing up at the older level, and has committed to play at Boston University.  A native of Bridgewater, NJ, Kaplan grew up playing up with the New Jersey Rockets 2003 Team.  Devin's oldest brother, Jordan, currently plays at Sacred Heart University, and his middle brother, Jalen who is a longtime BJW 2000 defender, is entering his freshman season at Colby College.  Devin has quarterbacked the offense for our BJW 2004 Team at several tournaments over the years, including the Selects Hockey LobsterFest, NAPS Beantown, and many more.  Currently, he is playing up with the North Jersey Avalanche 16U Team, and has accumulated a 4-5-9 stat line in just 4 games against players two years older than him.

Congratulations to Owen, Devin, and their families on this tremendous step in their hockey careers!  We are fortunate to have the Paskowski and Kaplan families in our Junior Whalers program, and we're excited to follow their journeys ahead!
